Nobska Partners is backed by an investment team with substantial experience in operating, growing and financing businesses in a wide range of industries, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.
The team is comprised of fifteen investors and includes a diverse mix of highly respected business executives, successful entrepreneurs, and institutional investors. We only acquire companies that can be grown through an investment of expertise and capital.

Evan Goldberg is the founder of Nobska Partners. Most recently, he was a Vice President in Strategic Business Development at JPMorgan Chase in New York, where he led teams responsible for managing acquisition, venture, divestiture and strategic alliance activities. Previously, at Morgan Stanley, he was involved in venture capital investing and strategic planning. As a management consultant at Mitchell Madison Group and the strategy group at Deloitte Consulting, he advised senior management of Fortune 100 companies. Additionally, he has operated a health services company, and has worked with small businesses in healthcare, financial services and media. Evan holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and graduated with honors from Trinity College.
Scott Asen is a former general partner of Pioneer Ventures and was responsible for management of the group's venture capital and special situations investment activities. Scott managed the remaining Pioneer Ventures entities that were successfully liquidated in 2002. Currently, Scott is a private investor managing a portfolio of equity and real estate investments for his personal account. Scott sits on the boards of three privately held companies and is a Trustee of Groton School and the Paris Review and a board member of the Island Foundation. He is a graduate of Harvard College.
Craig Burr is a founder of Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., a private investment firm with over $400 million under management. Craig's career has been devoted almost exclusively to venture capital activities, and he has backed numerous leading growth companies in a variety of industries. Previously, Craig was a Partner at TA Associates. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New England Venture Capital Association. He serves on the Boards of Directors of several private companies. Craig received his BA, cum laude, from Harvard College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Dave Carver has extensive experience as an operating manager in a variety of high technology companies, both public and private. Currently he is a co-founder of Search Fund Partners. He has bought and sold companies, and raised significant venture capital. He was CEO of HiFive Networks, Executive VP and GM of Network Associates, Chief Operating Officer of Network General, and served for 19 years in various executive positions in the Hewlett-Packard Company. He spent one and a half years as an Executive-in-Residence at Institutional Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital firm, finding and developing Internet investment opportunities. Dave has an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in mathematics from the University of Arkansas.
Brian Collins is currently the Vice President for The Collins Group, a private equity firm located in Boston, Massachusetts. The company specializes in early stage equity and bridge financing. He oversees a portfolio of companies in a variety of industries. Brian has served on the boards of several of these portfolio companies. He is on the board of Junior Achievement of Northern New England, and is also involved with The Endowment for Wednesday's Child in Boston. Brian received his MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies at Bentley College graduating with high distinction.
Bill Egan is a founder and General Partner of Alta Communications. He founded Alta's predecessor firm, Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., in 1979, and has identified and backed several of America's leading growth companies in the information technology, life sciences, and communications industries. Prior to founding Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., Bill was a Partner at TA Associates. Bill began his career as a Manager of Venture Capital for New England Enterprise Capital Corporation. Bill received a degree in Economics from Fairfield University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance.
Rich Kelley has been involved in numerous small businesses and start-up companies as an operator, owner, and investor. Currently he is a co-founder of Search Fund Partners. His varied experience includes: CFO of Score Learning Centers, CEO of San Jose Giants, General Partner of two small hotels (Stanford Terrace Inn and Lake Merritt Hotel), developer of houses and subdivisions, owner of office buildings, investor in successful tech start-ups (Coinstar, PLX Technology, Corcept Therapeutics). He has also invested in many limited partnerships, including venture funds. Rich has an MBA and a BA from Stanford University.
Andy Nichols is a former partner and chair of Choate, Hall & Stewart's Business Department. Throughout his forty-year career he has represented privately-owned and publicly-held companies in general corporate and other matters, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. He serves on the boards of directors of a variety of corporations. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America as one of the best corporate lawyers in Boston. Recently he participated in the drafting and was instrumental in the adoption of a new corporate statute in Massachusetts. Andy is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School.
Kendall Riding is a Partner with The Riding Group, a residential real estate development company with projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. As VP of Land Acquisition at the company, her primary focus is interacting with brokers and landowners in the identification and negotiations of new deals. Previously, Kendall held positions in the Research Department of Montgomery Securities in San Francisco and on the Editorial staff of the Red Herring Magazine. She received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University where she worked closely with small business owners to develop business strategies. She also earned a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Alan Rothman is a retired partner at a Boston-area public accounting firm. During his forty-year career he specialized in tax and estate planning for professional athletes and for small businesses. Al is a certified public accountant and received his BS in Business Accounting from Boston University.
Boaz Salik is the Managing Principal and founder of Fischer Jordan, a boutique consulting firm. Boaz has over a decade of experience in consulting to the financial services industry in Reengineering, Segmentation, and Rewards. Boaz began his career as an Associate and then an Engagement Manager at Mitchell Madison Group, then co-founded Inductis Inc., where he was a Principal until 2004. He is also the co-founder and Chairman of Bookins.com, a leading book-swapping website. Boaz holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Howard Stevenson is the Vice Provost for Harvard University Resources and Planning. He is also the Sarofim-Rock Professor of Business Administration. The Sarofim-Rock Chair was established in 1982 to provide a continuing base for research and teaching in the field of entrepreneurship. He has authored, co-authored, or edited six books, forty-one articles, and over one-hundred-fifty Harvard Business School case studies. Prof. Stevenson was a founder and the first president of the Baupost Group, Inc., an investment management firm that manages partnerships investing in liquid securities for wealthy families, which he grew to over $400 million in assets. Prof. Stevenson is an investor and board member in numerous private and public companies. He received his BS in mathematics, with distinction, from Stanford University and his MBA, with high distinction, and DBA degrees from Harvard Business School.
Sandeep Tyagi is the Managing Principal and founder of management consulting and outsourcing firm Inductis. Sandeep has been advising Fortune 100 clients and executives at leading companies about high-end analytics, outsourcing, marketing strategy and technology for more than a decade. Prior to founding Inductis, he was a partner at the Mitchell Madison Group, a global strategy consulting firm where he was the leader of the Pricing and Product Design Practice and co-leader of the eCommerce Practice. He is a board member of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Excellence Foundation and is a Charter Member of TiE. Sandeep holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BTech in Computer Science from IIT, Delhi.
The Cambria Group is a private investment company which acquires and invests in small and mid-sized businesses with established operating histories.
